You'll need 4 ingredients to make this White chocolate frosting for cakes. It makes a lovely topping for all kinds of cakes.  It works well as a filling too.

Slices of cakes on a white plate

It has a lovely smooth texture which sets really well without being overly firm or too runny. Dust with a light coating of cocoa powder or finely ground coffee granules to complement a coffee cake or chocolate cake.

How to make the White Chocolate Frosting for cakes.

  1. Melt the chocolate, butter and cream in a medium heatproof dish over a pan of simmering water.
  2. Take off the heat and gradually add the icing sugar and beat together until smooth.
  3. Leave to cool a little before spreading on top of your favourite cake or cupcakes.

I used this while chocolate frosting as a topping for my cappuccino cake recipe. But you could use it to top or fill about 12 cupcakes.
